Appointments are available for screening by the Pharmanex Biophotonic Scanner beginning at 4 p.m. Dec. 13 at The Club in Kona. The scanner technology measures the body’s complete antioxidant network and its ability to defend against aging and disease. The noninvasive procedure lasts 90 seconds; scanning costs $15.

Lokahi receives 3-year accreditation
Lokahi Treatment Centers has received a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The facility is accredited in outpatient treatment intergrated and alcohol and other drugs/mental health for adults and children. This is the fourth consecutive three-year accreditation Lokahi has received from the internatonal accrediting commission.
Lokahi Treatment Centers is a nonprofit organization with offices in Waikoloa, Honokaa, Kona and Hilo. It has been providing services on the Big Island since 2001.
Island Insurance offers termite coverage
Island Insurance Co., Ltd., is offering ground termite coverage to its homeowners policyholders in Hawaii.
The coverage includes an annual ground termite inspection of the home and should any ground termite damage be found and confirmed during the policy period, the damage will be repaired and treated at no additional cost.

Sheraton announces staffing changes
Pyramid Hotel Group has selected Viktor Schmidt as executive chef for the Sheraton Kona Resort ad Spa at Keauhou Bay. Donna Meyers is the resort’s director of group sales and Alana Miranda has been appointed director of leisure sales.
Schmidt holds a degree from the Culinary Institute of America in New York and he is a certified executive chef with the American Culinary Federation.
Meyer’s responsibilities include group lead generation, sales negotiations and proposal development, account management and building client relationships. Most recently, she represented Great Wolf Lodge in Washington.
Miranda, who was born and raised on Oahu, will be building Hawaii Island awareness in the travel community and supporting the efforts of the resort and island visitor bureau.
